Even though Lake Highlands is a neighborhoodhood in the City of Dallas, it is included in the prestigious Richardson Independent School District, RISD, public schools. The schools are outstanding and are one of the primary reasons Lake Highlands has a sense of community.The Lake Highlands High School Wildcats have a large following. In addition to the high school, there is a state-of-the-art Freshmen Center for all 9th grade, two junior high schools and nine elementary schools. Test scores are availabe from RISD.
Even if you do not have children attending school, the RISD system supports strong property value. Area residents also use the running tracks, tennis courts and other facilities.

The Lake Highlands Area Early Childhood PTA is a group of 200+ families in the Lake Highlands area with children birth to 6 years of age offering parent education, activities for young children and information on community issues and schools. Their website is www.lhaecpta.org.
